This is the story of the creation of Latin Love Search.
I'm Alexandra, the founder of this website. This is my personal story of how I
met the person of my dreams and my passion for creating this site to help others
find their soulmate online.
This website started off as a dream. I began by using my single friends in Peru
to join. This site has grown alot since then and keeps growing! We know we are
doing something right because so many people have found their true love on Latin
Love Search.
It is my love...and it is my passion! This website is very different from other
dating sites because we really care about our members.

A few years back, when the fad and hype of the Internet and online communications
took place, I was one of the first to begin chatting through “mirc 32,”
which was the first Internet chatroom ever created. As a result, I made many friendships
with people from all over the world.
Where are the keys?
One day while navigating the web, I found a popular dating website that was in
English (my English skills were very basic), but I made a profile anyway and uploaded
my best photos to see what would happen. One day, I received a message from
a good-looking, single man who didn’t have children. I read his profile
and felt a strong attraction to him. Of course I responded...
This is the cake of my dreams!
The next day I signed on to my instant messenger and began chatting with some
of my online friends. A window popped-up, with the name “Adam” telling
me "hi!" My heart stopped. From the first moment I communicated with
him, I felt a deep chemistry between us. I know its hard to believe you can feel
this way with someone you have never met in person. Sometimes he knew what I was
going to ask before I could type it. Our chat conversations were always exciting,
interesting, and we would be up for hours, sometimes all night!
I felt a great sensation inside because it was the first time I felt an attraction
so strong, not only physically, but very spiritually. I knew he was the man I
was looking for all of my entire life. Before meeting him in person, I told some
of my friends and family about him.
Of course, my friends and family members laughed at me, thinking I was dreaming.
I was reminded over and over that I had to be realistic.
Our first dance and the music was so nice!
Three months had passed and I was chatting and talking with Adam everyday.
It is indeed possible to learn to know somebody online. You are forced to discuss
things and share your feelings and communicate. Adam became the center of my attention.
I began writing him poems, sending him letters, and sending him electronic greeting
cards. I fell in love with him. He told me he never met such a romantic and sweet
woman like me and that he felt very flattered by all of the e-mails I had sent
him. Well, my friends and family still made fun of me every time I would talk
about him. Adam finally decided to visit me in my hometown. I was so excited and
I told everybody he was coming to see me. Many of my friends laughed and discouraged
me, saying that it was impossible to know somebody through the Internet. It was
the 23rd of December, 2001. I'll never forget that day. I went to greet Adam at
the airport along with my sister and my parents. I must say that I was a little
nervous.
I've never been so happy!
Adam was walking out from the baggage claim area when my sister recognized him
from the photos. The first thing we did was hug and kiss each other. He was sweating
from being nervous. He told me that I was beautiful. That day I brought him to
my house to celebrate with my family, where he captured their hearts. They all
loved and adored him. He had only come for two weeks, but it was the best experience
of my life and our feelings were confirmed. From the day of our first introduction,
I felt a strong connection with him, and knew we were compatible with each other.
After our first visit together, we continued to grow our relationship by using
webcams, letters, telephone calls. We used every type of communication possible.
We grew closer but I missed him so much.
Five months had passed and he came back to visit me. I introduced him to all my
friends and the rest of my family. This time, nobody doubted our love. The third
day he brought me to an elegant restaurant with candles—a romantic dinner.
He proposed to me, and I couldn’t believe it! I thought he was joking! Of
course I said, "Yes!" The next day I invited my parents to the hotel
where he asked my father for permission to marry me. My parents were so happy!
When he gave me the engagement ring, I thought I was dreaming—all the emotions
and happiness were overwhelming, and all I could do was thank God for sending
me such a good man.
Adam wanted me to meet his family and see how things would be in his home city.
Only then could we set a date for the wedding. When he picked me up at the airport,
our emotions were very strong and we greeted each other with a hug and a big kiss.
I met his family and they were so nice. We set the date for our civil marriage,
the 16th of August. It was a simple ceremony in a beautiful rose garden,
full of love and happiness. We danced to everything, especially Latin music. Three
months later, we traveled to Peru and had a religious ceremony. We married the
12th of December, 2003 in the Church “Virgen del Pilar.”
My dream came true!
It was the wedding of my dreams. I invited all of my close friends and family.
In the reception, we danced all night long to the animation of a twelve-piece
orchestra.
My in-laws and my husband’s friends danced
to the rhythm of salsa, meringue and cumbia. It was an unforgettable night for
me and it was fun to share the happiness with my friends and family.
After our wedding,
many of my girlfriends asked me if I could help them find love online. So I
decided to create this website to help my friends and family fulfill their dreams,
just like I did.
Latin Love Search was created in Peru with many Latinas and Latinos, so this
is the reason it has maintained a Latin theme with many Hipsanic members. Since
then it has expanded all over the world! The secret is to have faith, perseverance,
optimism and patience.
