| The good news is that there are millions of sincere honest singles
who dream to find love and to be loved.
Unfortunately, there are dating sites, marriage agencies, companies and individuals
on the internet who will take advantage of your good intentions. We specifically
created this area to help educate you about some of the frauds and scams that
are out there.
Do not spend your time, money and feelings on scammers!
Popular Strategies and Scams that many Online Dating
and Marriage Agencies use to Rip you Off!
Large affiliate networks. Many marriage agencies claim to
have thousands of women seeking men for marriage. The truth is that many of
these organizations don't really have their own members. What they have are
"borrowed" profiles that they were given to post on their own site
and then sell addresses. The company that provides all the profiles to these
"marriage agencies" gets a commission for all addresses sold.
Most of the Latin and Russian brides websites are "affiliate websites"
which means one central company sets the marriage agency up with a website and
then provides them with all of their female member profiles. Or, the agency's
site links directly to the central provider's website as an affiliate member.
These affiliate "agencies" have never met the women on their service
nor do they know how old the women's data is. Also, the same girls get posted
all over the internet on hundreds of "different" websites which makes
things very competitive for you since most of the attractive women have had
their address sold time and time again to many men before you found her.
We wish to emphasize that affiliate programs are not a bad thing. However some
of these programs have become so large that that they "pollute" the
internet and dominate the search engine listings. Many of the top listings while
doing an internet search just take you to different affiliate sites belonging
to the same large dating corporation.
Not only does this waste your time, but it prevents you from finding the numerous
quality sites that may be lower in the search engine results. The smaller agencies
can't compete with the gigantic marketing budgets of the large dating corporations.
The result is that you wind up with a "perceived" choice instead of
a real choice.
Dating review & dating directory disinformation. Taking
the affiliate empire a step further, enter the dating review site or dating
directory. These are sites that list hundreds of dating sites and their reviews
about what service is the "best." Of course when you click on the
links to visit all of the "top-rated sites," they are the sites with
the highest affiliate commissions and guess who gets the commission. The owner
of the dating review sites.
There are few good dating directories and review sites out there, but the majority
of them are designed to generate affiliate commissions, traffic, and leads to
their own sites.
---This is not a bad thing, just know the truth about why a site gets "top-rated."
Fake members. Many dating sites are given databases containing
100's and sometimes 100,000's of outdated profiles and photos taken from other
dating sites to help them get started.
Many of these large networks NEVER delete their members. It doesn't matter
if they cancelled their membership or even if they have died. You may find your
profile someday on numerous other sites that you never joined. The only way
you'll know is if a friend or family member joins the service and finds your
photo with a different name.
A former employee of one of the largest dating networks claims some of the
profiles on thier service are over 8-years old and the owner of the company
refuses to delete them! They even sell your personal information to the highest
bidder so you can recieve spam and advertising offers. This site claims to have
millions and millions of members.
---We dont' use these tactics. What you see is what you get.
Billing fraud. It is common for dating sites to offer a trial
membership for a cheap price that will convert automatically to a recurring
monthly membership fee if you don't cancel it in time. Month after month, your
credit card continues to get charged and the information about how to cancel
can't easily be found on the website. Some even decide to just charge your credit
card several months after you've cancelled your subscription knowing most people
will not notice.
---Latin Love Search is 100% free and we don't have any reason to use fake members or trick you into buying a membership.
Spamming. When you signup and become a member of some of
these large affiliate sites, not only are they trying to get your money but
your Email address and personal information is sold to spammers to send you
countless Emails such as sexual enhancements, mortgages and credit card offers.
---We will never sell your personal information. Period.
Visit my homepage scam. This is a very common scam mostly
on the adult sites. You'll receive
an Email from a member asking you to view more photos of her. She gives you
the location of her homepage and tells you how she can't wait to chat with you.
You visit her homepage and it has some sexy photos of her along with a personal
message that says in order to keep her site from being accessed by children, she
uses a special service to restrict access to the rest of the content on her
site. Of course the service she uses requires you to provide your credit card
number.
Thinking this attractive woman is actually interested in you, you go ahead
and click to get verified, where you are taken to another page belonging to
a service that will give you access to her webpage. You enter your info and
it says the service is free while enrolling you in a recurring monthly subscription
to more adult sites because you couldn't find the small text in their terms
and conditions that you agreed to.
You then have access to enter the girl's site and you see all sorts of revealing
pictures of her and a sexy message. Once she has received her commission by
the company selling "verification services," you'll never hear from
her again. Well, actually you may hear from her (or him pretending to be her)
but under a different name, identity, and photo trying to get you to buy access
to another one of their sites. An example of an age verification service commonly
used on these sites is Sexkey.com. Read how their program works, very interesting.
They'll even host your scam site for free!
Moral of the story is this--if someone is trying to solicit you to
visit thier personal homepage to contact them, there is a very high chance they
are trying to scam you.
Marriage agency scams. The most common scams usually originate
with the marriage agency itself. An example would be an agency posting a 2-3
year old profile of a beautiful female member on their homepage so you will
want to buy her address. They continue to sell her address even though she's
been married for a year and has a baby.
---Latin Love Search operates in real time similar to a dating site, you
can see when a verified member has logged into our system. This helps you make
contacts with active members and not outdated ones. Also, you can see who is
online to initiate a real time chat and the date and time of your correspondences.
No more waiting for letters to get forwarded by an agency.
Another popular scam is the agency may send you a letter or response to your
letter from an attractive girl. They make money each time you write by charging
you for translated letters to and from the girls. Some agencies are very "slick"
and have the "girl" solicit money from you to pay for her airline
ticket or visa. Our advise is to always visit the woman first in person. NEVER
SEND MONEY until you have at least met in person and have personally
confirmed the woman's identity. This is easy to do as you can request she provides
you with a copy of her passport, birth certificate and other information. Just
tell her you need these items so that you can initiate the process for her visa.
Girlfriend scam. This involves a woman pretending to be your
girlfriend. She triesto solicit money from you for various things. This same
scam happens everyday countless times in the United States and all over the
world. Again, make sure you visit her in person first. If you aren't willing
to travel to meet her first, you are better off dating someone locally.
